    Hey Ukesters,

    Thanks so much for a great rehearsal last Thursday and welcome to new member Jimmy! 

    We’ve got lots of stuff happening so please take a moment to read the rest of the email.

    Four new playing dates to add:

    Tuesday, March 24-Gilliam Springs Baptist Church, Arab, 11:30am – Encore Sr Adult Lunch

    Signup took place at rehearsal Thursday. Please let me know if your plans have changed so that alternates can be notified.

     If you are interested in being a part of the above but missed the sign-up, please email me to be added to the alternate list. Alternates are notified in order of sign-up as soon I am notified that there is an opening.

    Thursday, April 30-MMC Volunteer Luncheon at Guntersville State Park  Time TBA – 11-ish

    Hey Ukesters, we did it! Three performances in February….all in one week! Whew! Thanks to all who participated. 

    The next two weeks we’re going to take it slow and revisit some more of our old stuff and try a new song or two. We’ll also be preparing for our March 27 Nashville Taproom performance, so some regular rehearsals in March may be shortened to 1-2:15 so that the Taproom participants will have some rehearsal time 2:15-3-15 on just the songs for that event. We’ll take it week by week to decide.

    This is a joint fund-raiser sponsored by MVAC with Foster and Sand Mountain Jazz in the line-up. The proceeds will benefit area school instrumental programs.

    There is no limit. Sign-up will start this Thursday at rehearsal.

    Saturday, May 23-Ukes on the Mountain (Monte Santo)

    We’ll discuss this Thursday to decide about participation.

    Thursday, June 11, 10 am – Albertville Library kids’ summer reading program – to be held at the Albertville Depot. Theme is dinosaurs. 

    Thursday, June 18 – Guntersville Museum – America 250 – The Ukesters will present The American Songbook – details coming soon

  • February 12 update

    Hey Ukesters, thanks for a great rehearsal Thursday! Lots of LOVE going on. Remember, there will be no regular rehearsal for next Thursday, February 12. If you are not participating with the group at Lakeshore, you are welcome to gather at the Senior Center and jam at our regular time. If you are playing at Lakeshore, below is the info you need to know about Thursday’s event:

    • Meet at Lakeshore Sr Living, 5000 Launch St,  Guntersville, at 1:30. Parking is on the far side of the building.
    • Wear RED over dark pants/jeans. 
    • We’ll set up, take a pic, then play. at 2:00. I’ll have chairs set up for 18 and will need 8 of you to stand to play. 
    • If your plans have changed, please let me know.
